KAN | Orchids Flowers ~ Haute Couture Floral Design

I first stumbled upon this floral boutique while driving down the stylish, upbeat 12th Avenue of Seattle's Capital Hill neighborhood. At first glance I knew I had to pull over and take a moment to explore. Offering haute couture floral design, this place is tastefully done and serves as the perfect gallery-esque backdrop to feature the creations of owner and designer, Pradit Kan.

At an early age Kan established an appreciation and respect for plants while growing up on a farm in Thailand. He later received formal training in London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Bangkok. Drawing inspiration for his unique designs from his worldly travels. His approach is refreshing, often using just a few simple blooms and foliage, taking care not to obscure their true beauty. Through his distinctive eye and modern/clean aesthetic, the result is stunning! 3 Form Light Art Project - Year of the Dragon 2012

Since these magnificently sculpted Dragon's were built in 3-Form's Seattle studio, which happens to be local for me, I wanted so badly to sneak a peak of the construction in progress. Now, just in time for the Chinese New Year 2012, 3-Form's Light Art Division has delivered a spectacular project on a super-tight timeline. 75 feet long, 6 sections, 2 heads, fully packed with RGB LED lighting - DMX control via iPad, these fascinating creatures took 3 months to create. Another innovative project made primarily with 3-Forms Varia eco resin!

Merry Christmas from Trae Chic!

Driven with a passion for their craft, glass masters Giovanni & Simone Cenedese team up with the Architects Studio DDF to embark on a project to construct the world largest glass Christmas tree. Standing more than 8 m high & 3 m wide, this was a spectacular monument set in Murano, Italy in '06 then in Venice in '07! I have a feeling it will be featured again somewhere around the globe at Christmas time, and when it does, I'd love to be there to see it in person!
